Since so many of my fellow bloggers take wonderful pictures (Julie & Abbie I’m looking at you!) I want your advice.  I really want to upgrade to a nicer camera.  Our current camera is a Kodak EasyShare C533.  It does the job but lacks that extra umph that really great photos have.  Most of my photographs are what you see here: either landscape shots or people and projects indoors.  I would like to photograph things that I bake too but my current camera does a terrible job at that.  I’ve been scoping out the ads but don’t know what to look for.  Mom & I are going out on Black Friday so I want to be ready if there is a deal.

What features are most important?

Is one brand better than the others?  (I’m a little partial to Nikon since yearbook class)

Anything to avoid?

I’d love any advice you can give me!  Thanks in advance! 🙂

  1. oooh! cameras! I have a 19 lb. wiggleworm climbing all over my lap, so it’s hard to think straight and type! I’ll either be back or email you soon! 🙂 …just wanted you to know I saw this! hehe!

  2. Hi! I came across this camera recommendation from someone on Twitter…

I think it sounds good, but I don’t know what you’re looking for, what your budget is or if you were thinking of a DLSR camera. We got mine used or I never would have been able to afford it and I saved for my lens. I love the 50mm AF f/1.4 d lens (bought it from Amazon.com) Here is a review about it:

This guy (Ken Rockwell) reviews tons of stuff. Some people like him, some don’t, but you might find some explanations and links through his reviews. I love my camera, but it’s the lens that (I think) helps me take my pictures. I’ve heard people say that the 50mm f/1.8 is just about as good for 1/2 the price. It’s probably true and I rarely shoot wide open anyway. Feel free to email me if you want more specifics because I don’t want to just talk at you. (And I’m not expert…I’m just trying to do what I like!) =) best of luck to you!!!! <3
