3. Pay us, pay the processor, and pick up your meat!
Frequently Asked Questions
When will you have more meat?
We always email our customers first before announcing restocks on social media. Sign up for restock notifications so you don’t miss out!
Here’s when we typically have custom meats:
Chickens — Summer and Fall
Pork — Late Fall and/or Early Winter
Beef — Varies, available as often as possible
When do I pay?
Online orders require a small, non-refundable deposit (refunded only if we can’t fulfill your order). Deposits are applied to your order.
For custom freezer meats, shortly after butcher we’ll email you an invoice for the total due to us. Pay online or mail a check before you pick up your meat. At pickup, you’ll pay the processor separately for their services.
For chickens, exact weights and totals are available on pickup day. You can pay us online or with check or cash.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:
Credit and debit cards (online and through e-mailed invoices)
ACH bank transfers (via e-mailed invoices)
Checks made out to Becker Farms of Michigan, LLC. Please mail checks for custom meat before picking up.
Cash is king! We appreciate cash payments very much.
Are the quarters from the front or back of the cow?
Our beef quarters are split quarters, with cuts from both the front and back for a full variety. The processor takes one long side of the cow and splits each part between two people.
Each quarter is custom cut to your specifications. The processor will call you to go over all of your options.
Is there a price break for buying a half beef or whole pig?
Our beef price is the same per pound whether you buy a quarter, half, or whole. The only benefit to buying more at once is fewer trips to pick up meat.
For pork, we offer a small price break on whole pigs. Whole pigs usually cost less than twice the price of a half because smaller pigs are sold whole, while larger pigs are split. If a whole pig felt like too much in the past, a half might be perfect.
Are you organic?
No, we do not farm organically — and that’s on purpose. We’ve carefully considered organic farming, but it’s not the best fit for our farm or our customers right now.
Instead, we focus on sustainable, no-till farming to protect soil health, reduce fuel use, and minimize erosion. We use minimal chemicals — always well before harvest — and only when truly necessary.
We believe safe, local, high-quality meat should be accessible to every family — not just those who can afford to pay for an organic label.
